Beyond Your Backyard

And Jesus said, "love your neighbor as yourself."  Such simple and yet profound words.  Jesus did not say tolerate or even accept your neighbors.  He said, "love".  Wow.  Somehow those words have been forgotten and ignored by Christians world wide.

During July, we're going to do a series called "beyond your backyard."  We'll focus on the story of the Good Samaritan and Jesus' defintion of "who is my neighbor" to one curious bystander.

Get ready to ask God to give you a heart that loves people, to spend your life with people, and to share the good news of Jesus.

Got a few minutes today?  Go introduce yourself to a neighbor...take some cookies and lemonade to them.  Be the hands and feet of Jesus to them today.  Look beyond your backyard today.

My son and I came across your church's Bible club tonight at the park. He enjoyed it a lot, and we plan on returning. I did not know about it beforehand, but when we returned home, Christopher showed me the balloon with the advertizement from the Riverwalk Community Church in his room. I guess he knew about it. You guys are doing a great thing for the kids in our neighborhood. Thanks!
